Candles can add a really sensual feel to any midnight affair….or an anytime affair. Not only do they seem romantic because you put an actual effort into the lighting source, they’re also sexy because of the way that they light the room. Candles can quickly set up a last minute rendezvous or add to a meticulously planned evening. If you’re not sure of how to use them to your benefit, keep reading for some ideas.
To Set the Mood
Candle light is softer than any other light form you’ll have in your house. Setting out at least three or four candles will make a room seem more inviting and comforting, since it has a certain ambience to the quality of light it releases. The more candles you use, the lighter it will be (obviously), but keep in mind that one of the best things about candle light is that it hides flaws. The softness of it camouflages acne, unsmooth skin, and areas where fat might be hanging over when it shouldn’t be. While it won’t completely Photoshop you, you’ll see that you and your girlfriend will both seem like a better version of yourselves. Red or pink candles are associated with the feelings of love and desire, and often come in very nice scents to fill the room with. Other candle colors can give off smells like pine, orange, or marshmallow, which are all good on their own but don’t tend to get anyone’s libido running.
Candle Wax as Foreplay
Something that is often seen in movies, but not done as often as it should be in real life, is dripping candle wax on your lover. The hot, dripping wax flowing down the body causes a slight sting for the dripee and an equally as hot view of wax rolling down the curves and crevices of the body for the dripper. A word of caution: candle wax can burn the crap out of you, so instead get a soy candle. These are specially made to be used during foreplay, and are formulated not to actually burn the skin. Another big plus to these types of candles is that the wax turns into a massage oil and can be rubbed into the skin for a sexy, warm massage. Just make sure that the container it’s in doesn’t get too hot in your hands.
When using candles, be aware that they are indeed fire starters. Make sure that they are away from any sort of cloth like curtains or blankets when you set them down. The best candles to burn for bright light are ones with a clear glass casing, but using something that has colored glass will give off a different vibe. Before you think of just ditching the container altogether to get a stronger glow, don’t. It’s not safe to have open sources of flame just sitting around your place, especially when you start to get it on and could send candles falling or just not even having the attention span to notice anything other than your lover.
